Pots and Cans
Pots and Cans is dedicated to restoring dignity and independence through the power of a meal. By collecting and donating gently used or new kitchenware, we connect generous donors with trusted local nonprofits to equip individuals and families facing food, housing, or financial insecurity. From immigrants to those transitioning out of shelters, we ensure everyone has the tools they need to cook with confidence, nourish themselves, and reclaim a sense of home.
Food equals freedom.
One meal has the ability to change someone's life.

Our Story
On Martin Luther King Day in 2023, a powerful question was asked: "what do people receiving food donations, such as cans, do if they don't have access to a can opener?"
This question sparked an effort to start collecting pots, pans, can openers, and other kitchen must-haves to prepare meals from donated food. While the initiative first started to battle food insecurity, we have realized that families and individuals who are getting on their own two feet also need supplies to gain independence, pride, form a healthy lifestyle, and cut the financial burden of eating out.

We believe in the power of cooking. We believe everyone deserves the means to cook and eat with dignity, and ease.
